Fall sports are around the corner. The parent and player meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 9th at 6pm in the new gym. Football will be starting with 2-a-days on Friday August 11th through Friday August 18th except for Sunday. Practices will be held from 7-9am and 6-8pm. Physicals and all paperwork must be turned in prior to the first practice.

It is hard to believe but we have less than one month to the start of fall sports. At this time we do not have a high school head or assistant volleyball coach. Please consider taking the opportunity to work with a great group of young athletes. An application is available online or can be picked up in the district office.

Junior High parents/guardians- Sadly we are moving the promotion ceremony inside due to the forecasted thunderstorms this evening. We look forward to seeing all of you in the old high school gym. We will be starting promptly at 7pm.

JH/HS parents and guardians, there will not be any tutoring after school this week.

Parents/Guardians: We will be having summer school from June 12th - July 13th. It will be from Monday through Thursday, 9-11. Please see the flyer for more details. All students were sent home with a copy of this newsletter today. Note: The newsletter they are bringing home has a type that indicates staying until 12:30. That is wrong, all students need to be picked up no later than 11:30. Thanks and sorry for any confusion.

Graduation will start at 3 PM on the football field. We hope to see you all there.

Congrats to Rheid and Jerny Crawford who were both selected to the All State team for softball! We are so proud of you!

Join us tomorrow for breakfast and lunch.

This is a drill, Again, this is a drill. We are currently in the process of relocating students and taking attendance to verify all students and staff in attendance are accounted for. This DRILL represents an event that has been deemed traumatic enough that students will need to e picked up by a parent, guardian, or emergency contact. At this time, Arlee Schools asks that you no call. Phone lines need to be available to emergency personnel. DO NOT come to the school at this time. Please wait for further updates and instructions. Thank you.

If you are joining us for our State Track and Softball send-off, we are moving it up to 9:30 as the MAC bus is running ahead of schedule! See you in 30 minutes!

Parents and Guardians,
This Thursday will be our reunification drill. We will start the drill shortly after lunch. For those parents/guardians that are able to participate, you will be able to check your child out and start the long weekend early.
As a reminder, a reunification between students and parents would be determined based on the emergency situation. With that being said, there have been several questions as to whether or not a student would be able to drive home during this drill and the short answer to that would be no. If the emergency situation is determined to need reunification, that would imply that it is traumatic enough that you would need to come to the school to get your child. As stated in the last announcement, your most difficult part in this drill will be to wait. We practice that part because in a real emergency, you will want to come to the school to see if your child is safe, not just to have them drive home.
Upon the conclusion of the drill, those students that have been picked up by their parents/guardians will be excused for the remainder of the day and are able to get a jumpstart on their long weekend. The remaining students that are still at school will go back to their classrooms and continue their day as normal. We will run the buses at their regularly scheduled time. Thanks again to all the parents/guardians that are able to participate in this event.

Hello parents and guardians-
We will be having a Reunification Drill on May 25th shortly after lunch. For those of you that have never heard of a reunification drill, here is what we have planned.
A reunification drill is a drill to practice and prepare for the orderly and efficient reunification of students with their parents or guardians during an emergency situation. The primary goal of a reunification drill is to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals involved. Reunification with families is important in times of emergency, such as a gas leak, fires, power outages, or other abnormal events that could occur at the school.
This drill will help us to identify any potential issues or challenges that may arise during an actual emergency. By practicing these drills we hope to improve our response capabilities, enhance communication, and ultimately increase the safety and security of everyone involved.
How do you participate in the drill? For those parents/guardians that are able to be involved with reuniting with your children on May 25th (picking them up early), we ask that you do the following:
Your role starts with the most difficult part in an emergency situation….waiting. In our current times of cellphones and other electronic devices, parents and guardians will likely know about any events that occur prior to the school notifying you. Please do not call the school during that time as we need to keep the lines available to emergency services. Again, your first part in the drill is to be patient and wait until you hear from the school with further information. Waiting will be the most difficult part but is also the most important for ensuring the safety of all students and staff.
With that being said, please do the following:
Wait for communication from the school. Please be patient.
Do not call the school - We will notify you as quickly as possible. We need to keep phone lines available for emergency personnel.
As soon as we can, we will notify you of where to pick up your child. This will be communicated through our automated system.
Photo ID will be required to pick up your child.
Make sure your emergency contact list is updated. You will be able to review and make changes to your emergency contact list after picking up your child.
We are hoping to get as many families as possible to be able to partake in this drill. Once a child has been picked up from the school, their school day will be concluded and they can enjoy the long Memorial Day weekend. For those families unable to participate, the school day will continue and buses will run at their regularly scheduled time.
Lastly, our overall goal for this drill is to further develop roles and responsibilities for all parties involved but we are prioritizing school personnel and parents at this time. More information will be put out as we get closer to May 25th. I hope that this message provides you with enough time to be able to participate in this drill. Thanks.

Happy Signing Day to two very special ladies! Raven Parsons is heading to Portland Community College to play basketball and Jerny Crawford will be heading to Carroll College to play softball. We wish these two ladies the best of luck in their future endeavors. It's been an honor watching you grow as players and humans the last few years.
